Guillaume ROCHE
Co-founder of the Blue Schooner Company, Captain of the Merchant Navy
To combine his passion for sailing and the sea with his studies, he enrolled in the Merchant Navy’s Captain and Chief Engineer course.
During his career, he sailed on cargo ships, oil tankers, gas carriers, passenger ferries, liners and, above all, the L’Astrolabe icebreaker in Antarctica.
Deciding to become a player in the fight against climate change and pollution, he found a way to combine his experience and passion by co-founding the Blue Schooner Company, chartering a non-polluting vessel capable of transporting goods and passengers, while also being able to support scientific missions.

Passionate about the sea and sailing, Jeff has been sailing since a very young age. He naturally opted for a career as a merchant seaman, during which time he embarked on a variety of ships, from passenger ferries to icebreakers and oceanographic research vessels.
The desire to match his passion with his professional activities, the conviction of the need for a change in our way of life and consumption as well as the wish to share and offer his experience led in 2017 to the creation of the Blue Schooner Company.
